One of my rats is peeing blood and is losing a lot of weight. I don't have enough to take them to the vet, does anyone know what this could be? about 3 months ago ------------

It could be a urinary infection, which would require antibiotics. I believe amoxicillin is available though various internet sites, but anything stronger (which may be necessary) would most likely have to be prescribed by your vet. If there's any way you can manage a vet visit, this would probably be best. While a urinary infection is serious enough, there are surely other possibilities even more so, and I'm sure you want to give him (or her) the best chance possible of full recovery.
Perhaps others here will have additional insight into this problem. I've only encountered it on one occasion, and that was in a mouse (amoxillin cured it in his case).
Hope this helps, and all the best to you and your little rattie. about 3 months ago -----------

I will try to get them in asap, Can this be spread to humans? about 3 months ago ------------
The Rodent Reader Quarterly
That's extremely unlikely. Contrary to widespread belief among the general public, rats are among the least disease carrying/spreading animals on the planet. about 3 months ago
