I hope you've seen the additional updates about the new record on the News Page of michael-mcdermott.com. So, what are your thoughts about the songs discussed this far, and the info shared about them? I suspect Michael would appreciate a bit of feedback on these mysteries revealed.
To offer one small comment on them myself, I have to say I'm curious why there was such strong suggestion to change the name of "Incantation" to "Let It Go." Personally, I think Incantation is a far more McDermott-esque word, and that the title therefore fits better into his very unique catalog -- whereas, of course, "Let It Go," being more generic, could belong to many other artists. Either way, however, the song itself could only belong to Michael (loved the version of it he and Heather performed on the stageit show in May), so this is a very minor point (and by no means a criticism).
What are your thoughts -- on this or the other songs?
It's been way too quiet around here -- speak up!

Heya Mil These sorts of infos from Michael were exactly the kind of thing I had always hoped for (and then found the 'blog' thingy on his site too). Ever since I met Michael, and that long talk we had that night, I have been under some strange spell... I want to be his friend. I want to be someone he can call when sht goes bad, or when everything's great. His music touches every core of me in ways no one else has even come close (except perhaps my ex-wife). I know many people get that kind of 'idol worship'. I simply asked for insight into Michael's mind process, and these updates for the new album fill the bill. Thru things like this I feel like he is a close friend. I can't think of any other artist out there doing the same for their fans. Michael is truly unique in that, and I doubt I could ever express completely the way he has changed my life. I have not heard ANY songs on the new CD (why is it being called a record anymore? ;p ) I want it to be fresh and new, LIVE in Chicago on the 30th! As a side note, I wanted to mention that ticket sales for the June 30th show could use some help. I'd love nothing more than to see that place filled, and I would be hanging flyers if I lived in Chicago. If anyone reading these boards can help out in anyway to assist in promoting this show, PLEASE contact Matt about it. ninetymilesnorthpub@gmail.com Hugs all!

"Let It Go" does sound more mainstream, but if we want MM to be more widely listened to, maybe more mainstream is what we need. But yes, I love this song, whatever it's called!!
I love the updates on the new CD. I have created an iTunes playlist of the songs so far. I assume he is listing them in order. I hope so because I'm getting used to them in this order. The only one I don't have so far is "Ever After." I am waiting for something about my favorite, "Scars from Another Life," which I think is one of his best songs ever.
I do kind of wish there was at least one song on the new CD that I have never heard before, that was a total surprise. But oh well, that's okay, I'm grateful for MMM, which I hope they bring back at some point!!
